We have been super busy!

Advent Pretzels!

Hi

We had pretzels for our Advent. We melted chocolate chips and dipped the pretzel sticks in. They were very good!

Yum............Junior mint cookies and oranges are my favorite Night-before-Thanksgiving-road-trip-warm-up! I LOVE eating them while my mom is making the stuffing and pie! Tomorrow we are going to drive three hours away from my house! But it is going to be worth it. Turkey, mashed potatoes, pie, stuffing and cake will all pay up for it! Gus also has been packing up his bags for an across the street drive and is sleeping at my friend's house for a few nights.

Teddy Bear Bike Ride!

Today we took our Teddys for a bike and scooter ride. We love our Teddys!
A comment asked if we made them and we did at a Build-A-Bear kind of shop. It is a fun store!

Gus just turned 4, and he has his own pen pal! His name is Hammer. Hammer is very old, older than Gus. He is 5. Right now I am going to post some Gus photos. So I have to go.

The Tea Party for Bears

Today we had a tea party. When we were outside my Mom made some chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips. My sister, Polkie, and my brother came. My sister and I brought our Teddy bears. The white one is mine and the black one is my sister's, Polkie.

Candy Robber!

Candy robbering on Halloween is pretty usual at our house! There always seems to be a candy missing in the bowl!

This is a poem about fall.

Today on this windy day
the sun was low in the sky
cars with windshield wipers running passing by
rain pouring out of gutters and people
tightly closing their shutters
I get into my house I sit down and spread my quilt
and eat warm muffins with milk.

I would say this poem well describes a rainy day.

50's Birthday!

I am going to have a 50's themed birthday party soon. I will turn 7 years old. Today my Auntie sent us an email and she said she is going to make these aprons for every girl! And one for me and my sister, Polkie!

Today I saw that fall was here I could tell by
looking at the tree in my backyard. We are having a fall give away.

Gus's claws

Someone left a comment, asking about Gus's claw maintenance. They use nail clippers and we do watch. It only takes, like, two minutes.

Smiling Gus

Gus smiles all the time. He has two big front teeth. He weighs about four pounds and just so you know he is a guinea pig. He is only two years old. He has sharp claws! We take him in to a pet grooming shop that trims his claws.

COOKIE PUMPKIN PATCH

THE COOKIE RECIPE from our Grandma

(See the photos below)

2 1/4 C. flour
1/4 t. salt
2 t. baking powder
1/2 C. shortening
1 C. sugar
2 beaten eggs
1/2 t. vanilla
1 T. milk

Gently stir together the flour, salt and baking powder. In a separate bowl, mix the shortening and sugar until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla to the wet ingredients and mix. Add the dry ingredients to the wet, and add the milk. Mix all together until well combined.

These cookies can be rolled out immediately. There is no need to chill the dough.
We place them on cookie sheets covered in parchment paper.
Bake at 350, for about 10 minutes.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen, (depends on the size of cut outs.)

We triple this recipe!

DECORATING:

We made a simple icing with powdered sugar, a tiny bit of milk, vanilla, and butter, then added food coloring. You can also sprinkle them with sprinkles before baking.
